Russia brings doctors, air mobile hospital to quake-hit Chile.

SANTIAGO, March 14 (Itar-Tass) - Two Russian Emergency Situations
Ministry planes on Saturday brought a team of doctors and an air mobile
hospital to Chile which was hit by a series of earthquakes.
The second Il-76 landed at the Santiago airport at 16:45, local time
(22:45, Moscow time), shortly after the first one. The Russian ministry is
providing assistance to Chile at the instruction of the Russian president.
The team of doctors comprises 45 personnel of the Tsentrospas center,
seven doctors from the Zashchita emergency medicine center, and
psychologists of the Emergency Situations Ministry.
Earlier, Russia sent some 60 tons of relief supplies to Chile in two
batches, including tents, electricity generators and rescue equipment.
The air mobile hospital has, resuscitation, surgery and diagnostic
units. The Russian team fully tapped the hospital's potential during the
rescue mission in Haiti.
The first earthquake measuring 8.8 on the Richter scale struck Chile
two weeks ago. It was centered some 350 kilometers south of Santiago near
the town of Concepcion, which was worst hit.
Two days ago, a new series of earth tremorshit the country during the
inauguration of new president Sebastian Penero. Their magnitude range
between 6 and 6.9. More than 200 earth tremors was registered within two
weeks. The earthquakes left some 500 people dead and more than two million
homeless.
Pinero said the damage caused by the earthquake amounts to 30 billion
dollars.
