Yemen, Japan discuss development cooperation
SANA'A, July 1 (Saba) - Foreign Affairs Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi
held talks on Monday with Japanese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs
Osamu Uno on bilateral cooperation aspects between both countries
particularly in development issues.
The meetings reviewed the Japanese role to support development
process in Yemen as well as the cooperation aspects in power
generation, water desalination and supporting coastguard.
The minister expressed his appreciation of the great role Japan
plays to realize stability and security in the Middle East in
addition to support the international security and peace, affirming
Yemen's keenness on developing partnership relations with Japan and
coordinating the two countries attitudes towards various regional
and international issues.
For his part, the Japanese official said that his visits to Yemen
come to in continuation with the talks and meetings token place
between the two countries, topped by President Ali Abdullah Saleh's
visit to the Japanese capital Tokyo three years ago.
He also expressed the Japanese government's appreciation of the
efforts exerted by Yemen for releasing of Japanese tourists.
