Russia, Vietnam to cooperate in high technology.

MOSCOW, March 16 (Itar-Tass) --Development of cooperation between
Russia and Vietnam in high technology was the main theme of discussion
during the meeting on Tuesday of Russian Minister of Industry and Trade
Viktor Khristenko and Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy
Hoang.

"The ministers discussed joint projects of the two countries in
traditional power engineering, including prospects for Russia's
participation in the construction of energy facilities and overhauling
existing ones, as well as in the construction of nuclear power plants on
Vietnam's territory," says the report of the press service published on
the ministry's site.
Besides, according to the information of the Ministry of Industry and
Trade, the sides agreed "to promote the increase of Russia's presence on
the Vietnamese market," also by setting up joint ventures in automobile
manufacture.
Prospects for Russia supplying civil and military aviation equipment
for Vietnam's needs and developing the infrastructure for post-sales
servicing of aircraft and helicopter equipment were also discussed during
the visit. "In this connection the Russian minister held meetings with
potential buyers of Russian equipment - Minister of Transport and
Communications of Vietnam Ho Nghia Dung and Minister of National Defence
of Vietnam Phung Quang Thanh," the press service reports.
