Belarusian, Venezuelan Presidents `bury capitalism` at construction site.

CARACAS, March 17 (Itar-Tass) - Presidents Hugo Chavez of Venezuela
and Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus visited a construction site in the
city of Maracay where a residential compound of 5,000 apartments is being
built with assistance from Belarusian companies.
The two Presidents put several symbolic shovels of concrete into the
foundation of a five-story house.
First, Lukashenko threw just a modicum of concrete at the edge of the
shovel, producing laughter of appraisal among the people around.
Then he threw several fully loaded shovels into the foundation,
saying: "We've buried capitalism here."
President Chavez, who is building an authentic model of socialism of
the 21st century, liked Lukashenko's remark very much.
Riding in an open military jeep with Chavez in the driver's seat, the
Presidents made a tour of the huge construction site. On the way,
Lukashenko gave an impromptu interview to a local news media woman who was
standing by the roadside.
When she asked him to give an unbiased assessment to the progress of
the project, Lukashenko said without getting out of the car: "All that we'
ve done already gets the 'excellent' mark and what we haven't done gets
the 'bad' mark but it means we have something to achieve yet."
"All the more so, you know your President who always wants more and
feels has hasn't had enough," Lukashenko said in an unrestrained manner,
getting an encouraging reaction from Chavez.
He told the newswoman that Chavez has proposed to build one more
compound of the type as part of an effort to provide affordable housing to
Venezuelans.
Lukashenko also said he would like to tell the journalist "in strict
confidentiality while no one hears it" that all the plans will be
fulfilled if the Venezuelans "keep their President in place."
