Russian region issuing funds for extra foods for nursing mothers.

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, March 17 (Itar-Tass) - A total of 114.9
million rubles /USD 1=RUB 30.0/ will be allocated from the Kamchatka
territory's budget in 2010 for providing extra foods to the pregnant women
and nursing mothers who need assistance, spokespeople for the territorial
government said Wednesday.
These allocations have more than doubled since 2008 when 54.5 million
rubles were expended from the regional budget for the purpose, a source at
the territorial healthcare department said.
The authorities have drafted regulations for providing supplementary
foods to the women and babies of up to three years old with due account of
the specific age group requirements.
