Pyongyang urges stronger ties with Russia`s Far East - Kun Sun Un.
PYONGYANG, March 17 (Itar-Tass) - North Korea and Russia seek
"stronger trade and economic relations and multilateral cooperation in the
Far East irrespective of the UN Security Council's sanctions against
Pyongyang," North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Kun Sun Un said in an
interview with Itar-Tass after his visit to Moscow this month.
Aside from Moscow the diplomat visited Khabarovsk and Vladivostok,
where he met with local authorities and the president's mission in the Far
Eastern federal district.
The parties expressed readiness "to step up interregional cooperation
in the construction, timber and fishing industry," he said.
They also agreed to attract North Korea's companies to the
construction of facilities in the run-up to the Asia Pacific Economic
Cooperation summit in Vladivostok in 2012.
"North Korea obliged to supply construction materials of high quality
to such facilities," Kun Sun Un said.
North Korea and Russia's Far East agreed to expand exchanges of
diplomats, cultural workers and athletes and attract tourists.
