GUAM summit to discuss cooperation
BILISI, July 2 (Itar-Tass) - Participants in the GUAM summit, an
organization that comprises Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan ad Moldova, will discuss development of cooperation.
The forum will be held in Batumi on Tuesday.
Apart from the presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, leaders of
Poland, Lithuania, the foreign minister of the Czech Republic and
representatives of the US State Department will attend the summit.
Several documents are expected to be signed, including a declaration
on the use of the transport and transit potential, cooperation of customs
services and a programme of Georgian's presidency of the GUAM.
Georgia will take over the presidency from Azerbaijan until June of 2009.
GUAM General Secretary Valery Chechlashvili said the summit "will give an assessment to GUAM cooperation". The organization was set up on 1997.
