The Proton rocket carrier to carry American satellite to orbit.

MOSCOW, March 20 (Itar-Tass) - A Proton-M carrier rocket with the U.S.
satellite EchoStar-14 will be launched from the Baikonur space launch site
in Kazakhstan.
"The Proton-M rocket carrier equipped with the "Breeze-M" rocket
booster is to be launched at 21:27 Moscow time on Saturday," the press
secretary of the Khrunichev space centre Alexander Bobrenev told Itar-Tass.
The EchoStar-14 satellite was set up by the Space Systems/Loral
Company on the basis of LS-1300 satellite platform on order from the
American satellite operator EchoStar. It's meant for transmitting high
frequency television signals for 14 million viewers of the U.S. television
company DISH network. The satellite's mass is 6,384 kilograms. The
estimated period in orbit is 15 years.
The Proton-M rocket carrier and the Breeze-M rocket booster were
produced at the Khrunichev space centre.
The rocket has three stages. It's liquid propellant. The launching
mass is about 700 tons.
The International Launch Services (ILS) Company does the marketing at
the market of space services. The Khrunichev space centre holds a major
stake in it.
"The forthcoming launch will become the fourth for the Proton-M
carrier rocket in 2010 and 355th in its summer history. It's going to be
the second launch for the ILS in 2010 and 58th since the start of the
Proton commercial operation in April 1996.
