China vice president arrives in Russia for visit
VLADIVOSTOK, March 20 (Itar-Tass) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping
has arrived in Vladivostok on Saturday. A Chinese delegation headed by him
begins its visit to Russia with this city.
As Xi Jinping said, within the framework of the visit, he will meet
with the Russian leadership and take part in the opening ceremony of the
Year of the Chinese Language in Russia.
"The current visit will give an impetus to further strengthening of
political interaction, deepening of mutually advantageous cooperation of
the two countries in the interests of an all-round and intensive advance
of Chinese-Russian strategic partnership and interaction," the Chinese
vice president said.
The Chinese guests will stay in Vladivostok for two days. On Saturday
afternoon, they will visit the railway station of Vladivostok and the
memorial complex "Military Glory of the Pacific Fleet." Then a bilateral
Russian-Chinese enlarged meeting will be held to discuss prospects for
border cooperation of the Primorsky Territory with China's north-eastern
provinces, as well as the role of the Primorsky Territory in the
Asia-Pacific region. On Sunday, the Chinese delegation will familiarize
itself with preparations of Vladivostok for the APEC summit of 2012. In
particular, it will visit the construction site of the bridge across the
Golden Horn bay. The Chinese guests will also come to the All-Russia
Children's Center "Okean" (Ocean). On Sunday, the delegation will leave
for St. Petersburg.
