Russia urges all Mongolia political forces to show restraint(

MOSCOW, July 2 (Itar-Tass) - Russia urges all political forces in
Mongolia to show self-possession, responsibility and the strict observance of the law and order, an official at the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

"We are convinced that the current disagreements between them can and should be settled under the Mongolian Constitution," the official said. "Moscow is concerned over the development of the situation in Mongolia and denounces strongly extremist and unlawful actions," he said.

"We believe that a state of emergency, which the Mongolian authorities declared in Ulan Bator, is reasonable," the ministry's official said. "We hope that this necessary measure will contribute to the soonest normalization of the situation in the Mongolian capital," he said.

"The election in the Great State Hural (Mongolia's parliament) was
held in Mongolia on June 29. According to Russian and other foreign
observers, the election was held in compliance with the law and democratic principles and without serious violations. Unfortunately before the election results were announced street riots flared up in Ulan Bator, and the headquarters of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party was looted," the official pointed out.
