Azerbaijan violates truth with Nagorno-Karabakh

.

YEREVAN, March 28 (Itar-Tass) - The press service of the Defence Army
of the unrecognised Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh said in a statement
issued on Saturday that the Azerbaijani side had violated a ceasefire on
the line of contact with Nagrono-Karabakh more than a hundred times over
the past week.
According to the information of the army of Nagrono-Karabakh, advanced
forces of the Azerbaijani army fired from firearms of various calibre in
the southeastern, central and northeastern directions of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Truce violation was particularly intensive in the northwestern section of
the line of contact, the press service went on to say. On March 22-23,
Azerbaijani troops launched 34 fire attacks from submachine guns and
sniper rivals, including of a large calibre, at the villages of
Karmiravan, Namirli, Dzhraberd, Seisulan, Shurabad and Yarmndzha.
After retaliatory measures, undertaken by advanced forces of the
Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, the enemy stopped shooting, a source in
Stepanakert reports.
The Karabakh forces didn't suffer any losses.

. Local elections to be held in Trans-Dniester Region.

TIRASPOL, March 28 (Itar-Tass) -Elections to local government bodies
will be held in the Trans-Dniester Region on Sunday. In the city of
Bendery, a referendum on whether a monument to the former commander of the
14th Russian army General Alexander Lebed should be mounted in the city.
Lebed's resolute actions stopped a bloody fraternal war in the region back
in 1992.
The elections, though not held on party tickets, are widely considered
to be a dress rehearsal of next year's parliamentary elections.
Pyotr Denisenko, the chairman of the electoral commission of the
unrecognised republic, told reporters that more than 640 candidates -
eight for each seat - will run for deputy mandates in 323 constituencies.
For the elections to be considered valid, 25% out of 390,491 voters
included in the lists of voters should turn up at the polls. Information
on the turnout will be announced on Sunday night, while preliminary
election result will become known on Monday morning.
According to the head of the Central Electoral Committee, the
forthcoming elections haven't attracted a large number of observers.
Representatives from Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh, the Gagauz
Autonomy of Moldova and representatives from Russia will monitor these
polls.

. Apartment building explosion kills 3, injures nine.

MOSCOW, March 28 (Itar-Tass) - Workers will continue clearing the
rubble in an apartment building that was devastated by explosion in
Pavlovskaya Sloboda, the Istra district of the Moscow region.
The work will resume at dawn on Sunday, the press service of the
central regional department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency
Situations told Itar-Tass.
The gas explosion occurred on Saturday morning. It caused an external
wall of the three-storey building to collapse. A fire that followed
engulfed four apartments and part of the roof.
Eighty-six tenants were evacuated. Three people were killed; nine were
injured and taken to hospital.
"At the moment, the fate of three people remains unknown. We cannot
claim that they are under the rubble. We are trying to establish their
whereabouts," the agency's interlocutor said.
According to preliminary theory, a man called in workers to his
apartment to install stretched ceiling. For that gas cylinder had been
brought to the apartment. One of them later exploded," law enforcers say.
