YUDHOHYONO ASKS DEMOCRAT PARTY CADRES TO HELP MAKE GOVT SUCCEED
Jakarta, March 27 (ANTARA) - The chief patron of the ruling Democrat Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has instructed all the party's cadres to help make the government's programs a success until 2014.
Yudhoyono, who is concurrently the president, in his speech at the opening of the party`s national coordination meeting here on Saturday night, said that all Democrat Party cadres across the country must show their readiness to help all regional heads such as governors, district heads and mayors to carry out development programs successflly.
"I hope the Democrat Party in the future will continue to focus on and increase its contribution to the success of the national programs.
With the completion of the general election that has formed the government in 2009, the Democrat Party should not stop helping to make the government programs a success," Yudhoyono said.
Yudhoyono mentioned several government's programs which should be carried out until 2014 by the Democrat Party (PD) among others infrastructure development, food security and energy, and reduction of poverty and unemployment.
On the occasion Yudhoyono again referred to the slander and malicious allegations being directed continuously against the party that won the 2009 general elections.
Yudhoyono said to date the allegations saying that the Democrat Party received funds from the flow of Bank Century's bailout was not proven.
What was uncovered today is that the irregularities of the Bank Century's use of funds by certain parties instead which must be investigated, he said.
In his speech at the opening of the party`s national coordination meeting he said the national congress next May in Bandung should make the party able to serve the people and the country better in the future.
The congress next month would elect the party`s new leadership for 2010 -2015, set new organizational structure to make the party more effective in carrying out its tasks, improving its internal rules and statute to reflect modern management and outline strategic policies and action plans for the next five years.
