GOVT ENCOURAGES USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR EDUCATION :V

P
Pontianak, W Kalimantan, March 27 (ANTARA) - Vice President Boediono said the government is encouraging the use of information technology to deal with the unevenly distribution of educational facilities in the country.

Speaking at a dialog with students and academics here at the weekend, Boediono said a remote learning system might be one of the solutions to the problem.

"If possible, it (the system) can be optimized for regions whose population is spreading," he said.

He said the system could be developed at least during the transitional period before all regions' demand for educational facilities could be met.

He admitted that certain regions had problematic access to educational facilities and consequently, their educational ratings turned problematic.
