involves all the three services of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the
Indonesian National Forces (TNI).

The Defence Ministry said in a statement Sunday that the exercise involved
the special forces comprising the Commandos, Special Unit of the Air Force and
the Navy Special Force of the ATM and the TNI.

"The exercise in the peninsular Malaysia and the Straits of Melaka involves
the Forces Integrated Training (FIT), Command Post Exercise (CPX), Field
Training Exercise (FTX), and the Post Exercise Debrief (PXD), the statement
said.

The exercise was being carried out to gauge the capabilities of the ATM and

Indonesian territories, the statement said.

Meanwhile in BAGAN DATOH, Perak, a northern state in Peninsular Malaysia,
Defence Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he and the TNI Chief would observe
