SECURITY AROUND PRESIDENTIAL PALACE INTENSIFIED

Jakarta, March 29 (ANTARA) - Security around the Presidential Palace, including the State Secretariat office, is intensified following bomb hoax on Sunday.

"We continue to intensify the security around the palace and the state secretariat office in accordance with existing permanent procedure (Protap), namely regular patrol in the morning, at noon, in the afternoon, and at night from day after day," Presidential Security Commander (Danpaspampres) May. Gen. Marciano Norman said here on Monday.

Marciano said security situation around the presidential palace at present remained normal but the state of alertness was intensified in accordance with existing Protap.

"The situation at present is normal. Nothing happens but we have the situation analysis that has to be updated anytime, because we know what we have to do and how to do it," Marcianto said.

The State Secretariat office on Sunday morning was reported to have received a bomb threat at 6 a.m. through a telephone call to Gambir sector police office.

After receiving the bomb threat, Polda Metro Jaya police anti-bomb squad acted immediately to comb inside and outside of the State Secretariat office building but no bomb was found.
