STUDENT SENTENCED TO 2 YEARS FOR POSSESSING SHABU

Pangkalpinang, Indonesia, March 29 (ANTARA) - The local court sentenced a 16-year-old student to two years in jail and a fine of Rp400 million on Monday for possessing 0.08 gram of shabu-shabu (methyl amphetamine).

The defendant identified as Surya was found guilty of violating the narcotic law, judge Rinaldi said.
The sentence was two years lighter than public prosecutor Eko Purwanto had sought.

Police arrested Surya on January 10 while was delivering 0.08 gram of shabu-shabu wrapped in tissue to ER who is now still at large.
