PRESIDENT CONCLUDES EAST JAVA TOUR



Madiun, East Java Province, April 1 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono concluded his three-day working tour of East Java on Thursday and returned to Jakarta.

At about 10 on Thursday morning, the president and his entourage left Iswahyudi military airbase in Madiun for Halim Perdanakusuma military airbase in Jakarta.

The head of state started his East Java tour on Monday, March 29, 2010 to visit a number of districts and cities in the province.

On the first day of his visit, the president took an overland trip from Surabaya to Malang with a stopover in Sidoarjo to have first hand information about Lapindo Brantas mud flow management at Porong.

Arriving in Malang on Monday afternoon, the head of state attended national disaster management simulation at Abdurahman Saleh airport and visit agro-tourism site at Batu town to lead a tree planting activity as part of "one-million trees movement".

Still in Malang on the second day (Tuesday), the president
open National Football Congress (KSN) at Ken Arok sports stadium where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry and State Ministry for State Enterprises was signed before the head of state.

Then on Tuesday afternoon, the president watched a football match between Arema Malang soccer team and the team from State Administration College (STAN) at Kanjuruhan sports stadium.

After that, the president on Wednesday inspected an Etawa goat breeding center in Tulungagung district to have a dialog with
with Etawa goat breeders who represented five districts in East Java, namely Blitar, Trenggalek, Tulungagung, Ponorogo, and Pacitan.

President Yudhoyono's entourage was made up of among others First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Fadel Muhammad, Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring, and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
