BEI INDEX CLOSES HIGHER LATE THURSDAY MORNING
Jakarta, April 1 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) here on late Thursday morning closed higher, on oil, gold and metal price hikes.
The BEI index rose 49,126 points or 1.77 percent to 2,826.43 points, and the LQ 45 index gained 10.314 points to 550.115 points.
The oil price climbed to nearly the level of 84 US dollar per barrel, and the gold and metal prices also rose, according to Krishna Dwi Setiawan, a research analyst of PT Valbury Asia Securities.
That condition had potential to bolster the index until the market's close, he said.
In the regional markets, Hang Seng index climbed 200.36 points to 21.439, Nikkei-225 added 154.24 points to 11,239, and Straits Times also advanced 34.16 points to 2,921.
The BEI in the morning session recorded 61,523 transactions, involving 2.142 billion shares worth Rp2.642 trillion. Some 116 stocks advanced, 71 lost and 67 remained static.
Among top gainers at the BEI were PT Adaro (ADRO) shares which rose Rp40 to Rp2,000 per share, Delta Dunia (DOID) shares that slightly advanced Rp10 to Rp1,080, cement company Semen Gresik (SMGR) shares that climbed Rp400 to Rp7,700, and Bumi Resources (BUMI) shares that gained Rp25 to Rp2,275 per share.
