Russia, Turkmenistan seek to cooperate on international security

ASHGABAT, July 4 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Turkmenistan intend to
actively cooperate on international security issues, said a joint
statement of the two presidents on Friday.
"Focusing on pressing problems of international relations, the
maintaining of peace and stability, fight against terrorism, drugs and
other threats to security, the sides marked the importance of maintaining
in the future a high level of cooperation on these issues," the joint
statement said.
The unveiling in Ashgabat of the United Nations Regional Centre for
Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia has become a practical result of
mutual understanding on pressing issues of international relations.
