MILD QUAKE HITS DILI

Jakarta, Apr 2 (ANTARA) - An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hit Dili, Timor Leste, on Friday at 9.42 am West Indonesia standard time (WIB), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said.

The temblor had its epicenter 7.84 degrees southern latitude, and 127.66 degrees eastern longitude 244 kilometers northwest of Dili at the depth of 145 kilometers.

The earthquake had no potential to trigger a tsunami.
