JOURNAL ADDRESSES ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ An event to hand over sample copies of a special edition of the "State Bulletin" journal to the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism (MNET) took place at the Government House March 31.
In his opening speech, S. Magnaisuren, a Secretary of the Parliament Office, said,"In collaboration with organizations concerned, the Parliament Office has been publishing a series of special editions of the "State Bulletin" journal that widely covers information including international human rights convention, international labor organization convention, UN charter, diplomat and consular relations, charter of international court of justice, international trade acts, international trade acts, international intellectual property, conventions against terrorism and crimes, international humanitarian affairs, WTO treaties and other international laws since 2004. This is the 9th edition which focuses maily on environmental issues including the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Convention for the Protection of Ozone Layer, and the Convention on Conservation Migratory Species of Wild Animals".
He extended special thanks to the Dutch Government for translating, editing and financially supporting, the UNDP project "Strengthening Environmental Governance in Mongolia" and the Foreign Ministry of Mongolia.
The event was attended by officials from the Parliament Office, the "State Bulletin" journal, MNET, UNDP Mongolia, UNDP project "Strengthening Environmental Governance in Mongolia" and the Foreign Ministry.
Mongolia has joined 180 international treaties and conventions, 121 of these have been published in the 9 series of special editions of the journal.
