BIG RING ROAD FLYOVER LAUNCHES
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ An official ceremony ran March 29 to launch a project for construction a flyover railroad in Ulaanbaatar.
The project is to be completed by November of 2012 financed with non-refundable assistance from Japan Government. A flyover linking Ikh Toiruu (Big Ring Road) with Engels Street will be constructed crossing the railroad and Narny Zam (Sun Road) road. The 895 meters long flyover is supposed to reduce traffic loads on the existing two bridges and to ensure the city's traffic safety. It is the first ever steel-and-concrete construction in Mongolia.
Minister of Road, Transport, Construction and Urban Development KH. Battulga noted, “This flyover is important in reducing traffic jams in Ulaanbaatar. The non-refundable assistance equals to some USD 40 million. Technology and construction techniques are Japanese, but 60 percent of flyover construction's executors are Mongolians".
"Another flyover has been planned near Narantuul market," he went on adding that "the Japanese technology to construct the flyover, and the project will be a good example for us".
