Russian oil, gas companies establish joint venture
ASHKHABAD, July 5 (Itar-Tass) - A joint venture of LUKOIL and Gazprom Neft will begin operating the nearest time, LUKOIL's chief Vagit Alekperov said.
He said a "protocol on principles of the activity of the joint venture has been signed".
At present, assets that the JV will handle on the territory of Russia and outside it are being coordinated, he said.
In last year's December, Gazprom Neft and LUKOIL established the joint
venture Oil and Gas Company "Development of Regions".
The proportion of Gazprom Neft in authorized capital is 51 percent and
of LUKOIL 49 percent.
The sides said they would pursue "different oil and gas projects".
Specialists cited the projects in the Eastern Siberian region and in
the Timano-Pechera basin. The participation in international projects is
not ruled out.
The companies LUKOIL and Gazprom Neft signed at the recent economic
forum in St. Petersburg a protocol on deposits for development, but it
content has not been articulated.
