Iran not worried about new UN resolution
TEHRAN, Apr. 5 (MNA) -- MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi says Iran is not worried about the possibility of a new United Nations Security Council resolution against the country.
“If a new resolution is adopted against Iran, it will only add to the number of resolutions already adopted and nothing significant will happen,” Boroujerdi said here on Sunday.
Iran has taken the steps necessary to clarify its position with regard to its nuclear program, the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee chairman added.
“This effort is in line with the Islamic Republic’s logical policies and it will continue,” he said.
Boroujerdi stated that Iran is not prepared to forfeit its rights, which are based on international law.
He also dismissed the accusations made by a U.S. newspaper, which claimed Iran has two clandestine nuclear sites, and said that all Iran’s nuclear activities are in compliance with International Atomic Energy Agency regulations and the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Iran will submit reports on all nuclear-related activities to the IAEA, he noted.
