Russia, Turkmenistan put emphasis on Caspian pipeline project
ASHGABAT, July 5 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Turkmenistan intend to pay priority attention to the implementation of the Caspian gas pipeline project, said a joint statement of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov of Turkmenistan on Friday.
"Facilities of the fuel and energy complex of the two countries, which
design and build major facilities of the pipeline infrastructure, enjoy a
high level of partnership," the statement said.
"Particular attention was paid in that connection to issues concerning
the implementation of the project for the construction of the Caspian gas
pipeline, the commissioning of which will make it possible to sizably
increase the amount of natural gas supplies from Turkmenistan to Russia," the document stressed.
