Russia, Turkmenistan confirm liabilities in gas deal until 2025

ASHGABAT, July 5 (Itar-Tass) -- The presidents of Russia and
Turkmenistan confirmed their adherence to the liabilities under the
agreement on Turkmen gas supplies to Russia until 2025, Turkmenistan's
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov said after the talks with Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev here on Friday.

"We confirmed our permanent adherence to the liabilities assumed under
the agreement on Turkmen gas supplies to Russia until 2025," he said.

Berdymukhammedov stressed the cooperation in the energy sector. He
called among vital projects the modernization and building of a new
Caspian gas pipeline.

The Turkmen president also noted a general boost in bilateral trade
and economic cooperation. "This boost is steeping and demands a constant
adjustment," he said.

The Turkmen leader stated with satisfaction the operation of Russian
large companies in the republic and tangible development of regional ties.

In Berdymukhammedov's view, the cooperation between Russia and
Turkmenistan has a huge potential.
