Russia, Ukraine Dpty PMs to discuss coop`n prospects Tue.
MOSCOW, April 6 (Itar-Tass) - Viktor Zubkov, First Vice-Premier of the
Russian Federation, and Viktor Slauta, Vice-Premier of Ukraine, meet here
on Tuesday for talks at which they are planning to discuss the entire
spectrum of matters concerning cooperation between the two countries in
the agri-industrial sector (AIS), said a Russian government source.
The two Vice-Premiers will meet in accordance with the understanding
that was reached on March 25 during talks between Russian Premier Vladimir
Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Nikolai Azarov.
The AIS is one of promising areas of bilateral interaction against the
background of a substantial growth of Russo-Ukrainian trade-and-economic
cooperation of late, the source pointed out.
Matters to be discussed by Zubkov and his Ukrainian counterpart
include mutual investments in the AIS, prospects for co-production
arrangements in the field of agricultural engineering the manufacture of
equipment for the food and processing industries, and cooperation in the
field of innovations in the agrarian sphere.
The talks will be held within the scope of preparation for a regular,
the 6th, session of the bilateral committee on economic cooperation. The
session is due to be held in Moscow later this month at the level of the
Heads of Government of Russia and Ukraine.
