PDIP CADRES TO ABIDE BY PARTY CHAIRPERSON'S DECISION

Sanur, Bali, Indonesia, April 6 (ANTARA) - Almost all Indonesian Democratic Party Struggle (PDI-P) cadres will abide by the decision of the party chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, whatever it is.

"The majority of the party cadres let the decision up to Megawati, and let us wait and see what the decision will be," PDI-P politician Gayus Limbuun said before the party congress was opened here on Tuesday.

He said they would support Megawati's decision in the congress whether it is about the new structure of the party's organization, its attitude to the coalition discourse, or to remain opposition party in the government.

Similar statement was also made by a number of PDI-P cadres such as Olly Dondokambey, Kristiya Kartika, and Rahadi Zakaria.

"I have yet to know what Megawati will decide concerning the fate of the party, but it is up to her," said Rahadi Zakaria, the former PDI-P functionary of West Java who is currently a member of House of Representatives Commission-II for 2009-2014 period.

Megawati is scheduled to open the third PDI-P congress here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Kristiya Kartika also shared Rahadi Zakaria and Gayus Limbuun opinion.

"Whatever Megawati decide in the congress will be accommodated and then studied further and developed it as the decision of the congress," Kristiya Kartika said.

Commenting on the position of PDI-P deputy general chariman, Kristiya Kartika said two figures, namely Megawati's son M Prananda Prabowo and her daughter Puan Maharani were rumored to fill that position.

Another party cadre Olly Dondokamey said PDI-P secretary general Pramono Anung would probably be replaced by one of three candidates, namely Ganjar Pranowo, Effendy Simbolon, and Maruarar Sirait.

"The replacement of the party secretary general will also be discussed in the congress," Olly Dondokambey said, adding that a circulating issue about a rift in Megawati Soekarnoputri's family was not true.
