MINISTER ASKS PUBLIC TO EXPOSE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, CHILDREN CASES
Jakarta, April 6 (ANTARA) - Minister for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PP-PA) Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar has asked the public to expose any case of violence against women or children they know about.
"All information about violence against women and children as well as human trafficking should be reported to the police and public," the minister said here on Tuesday.
She made the statement at a communication forum on public relations affairs at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection here.
The minister said the objective of exposing such cases was to make all related authorities aware of what really happens in the community.
"It will also optimize the implementation of various regulations related to violence against women and children cases," she said.
In addition, by knowing the real situation in the community the people would be more aware of such cases and try to play their role in helping the government overcome the problem.
Therefore, the minister expressed hope that all government institutions and state enterprises (BUMN) through their respective public relations office would help to make the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection's program a success.
"All parties are expected to participate in the effort to overcome violence against women and children in the country," she said.
