BISHKEK, April 7 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyzstan's Interior Ministry has
denied reports that protesters seized a governmental office in a
provincial town of Naryn, southeastern Kyrgyzstan, the ministry's press
service said on Wednesday.
The situation is Naryn, where opposition members gathered for a
meeting, is calm, no aggressive actions are taken, the press service said.
Meanwhile, local mass media and human rights organizations say
demonstrators in Naryn offered the region's governor "to take the side of
people." After making this statement they rushed inside the building.
Police have taken no active actions against protesters so far.
Witnesses confirm the protests continue in the northwestern town of
Talas, where around 1,000 protesters stormed a local governmental office
and took attempts of seizing the Interior Ministry department on Tuesday.
Moreover around 1,500-2000 people stormed the central square of
Tokmak, the Chui region, protesting against the authorities' actions.
Clashes of opposition members with police are reported in the Kyrgyz
capital of Bishkek, where several hundreds of protesters were dispersed
with flash bangs and tear gas.
Protesters set one police car on fire and broke another one. Witnesses
say protesters take aggressive actions against policemen.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Daniyar Usenov said earlier the
situation in the republic is calm and is fully controlled by law enforcers.
