CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Cabinet held Wednesday discussed and backed in principle a new wording of draft law on competitiveness initiated by D.Gankhuyag and S.Byambatsogt MPs. Then the cabinet decided to convey the draft to the initiators after reflecting opinions of the cabinet.
The government considered and backed in principle a draft resolution of parliament on forming strategy and guideline for establishing copper smelting and processing factory. The draft resolution is initiated by D.Damba-Ochir MP.
The government considered as necessary to open General Consulates of Mongolia in San Francisco of the USA, Osaka of Japan, and in Chinese Hong Kong. It was decided to submit the issue to the State Great Khural.
The cabinet approved results of the 4th meeting of the Mongolia-Austria Intergovernmental Commission of Economic Cooperation that was held February
23-25, 2010, in Vienna city, Austria. The Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Badamjunai was ordered to approve a working plan to be realized in accordance with a line of the meeting, and control over the implementation.
A draft resolution of parliament on approving the state policy on railways was backed at the cabinet meeting. It will be submitted to parliament.
In accordance with a decision of the cabinet, the size of excise tax on auto fuel and diesel fuel will be not changed.
Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of the government Ch.Khurelbaatar introduced to the cabinet the report of the governmental activities in 2009.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs G.Zandanshatar gave a report about content and theme of Mongolian pavilion at the “Shanghai EXPO-2010” exhibition. According to him, Mongolia is preparing to set up a pavilion named “Gobi and City” to function from May 1 to October 31.
Ministers gor results of official visit of T.Badamjunai, the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, paid March 15-21, 2010 to the Lao People's Democratic Republic. T.Badamjunai was ordered to approve a measures' plan to be realized in accordance with a line of the visit, and control over the realization.
Head of the Cabinet Secretariat introduced to the Ministers requirements sent to the government from NGOs. In connection with it, the governmental members were told to study these requirements and to take related measures. They were ordered to ensure a preparatory work for establishing a trilateral agreement on increasing size of salaries, pension and allowance.
