Jakarta, April 8 (ANTARA) - Vice President here on Thursday launched his official website, "www.wapresri.go.id" as a facility for him to communicate with the people.

"This website is useful for me to interact with the people and the people with me," the vice president said at a function to launch the website at his office here on Thursday.

According to the vice president, the mutual interaction with the people was very important, and that, through the website the people would be able to know his daily activities.

Present at the occasion were Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Hatta Rajasa and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Darwin Saleh.

The vice president launched his official website moments before leaving for Palu, Central Sulawesi, for a two-day working visit in the province to meet the local government officials and to have dialog with the students there.

"The vice president wants to obtain first hand information about the latest situation in Central Sulawesi in relation with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No.7/2008," vice presidential spokesman Yopie Hidayat said.

In August 2008, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono issued Inpress No.7/2008 on the Central Sulawesi Development Acceleration following the province' inferiority as the result of communal conflicts in the province.

Speaking to newsmen at Halim Perdanakusuma airport before leaving to Palu with Vice President Boediono and his entourage, Yopie Hidayat said the Inpress No.7/2008 has to date yet to function as expected.

"That's the reason why the vice president wanted to obtain first hand information about why the Inpres failed to function as expected," Hidayat said.

It was expected that after meeting Central Sulawesi government officials, the vice president would have direct information from them about the obstacles being faced by the province.

Yopie Hidayat said Vice President Boediono in the visit to Palu would also open Maulid Nusantara Festival on Friday at the invitation of Governor HB. Paliudju.

While in Palu, the vice president will also visit several school and have a dialog with the students to get first hand information about educational progress in the province.
