FLOW OF FUNDS FROM GAYUS EASY TO TRACE: SUSNO
Jakarta, April 8 (ANTARA) - Former Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji said that it was very easy for the police to trace the flow of funds from tax fraud suspect Gayus Tambunan because the key witnesses in this case had all been arrested.
"It is very easy to disclose the Rp28 billion funds because the key witnesses such as Gayus, Andi Kosasih and Haposan have been arrested," the former head of the Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) said.
He made the remarks during a hearing with the House Commission III for legal affairs here on Thursday.
Susno said that if there was a will and honesty it would be very easy to trace the flow of the funds based on the explanations made by Gayus P Tambunan.
He said that Andi Kosasih had admitted that the suspicious Rp28 billion funds in Gayus's bank account were actually not his money as he had earlier admitted.
"Andi Kosasih has admitted that the Rp28 billion did not belong to him. He also admitted that he had handed over Rp5 billion (to a police officer) but I never received it," Susno said.
According to Susno, a police officer has asked for Rp5 billion from Gayus which would be transferred to Susno. The money was asked by the officer under his alleged request. But Susno said he never asked for such a money.
He said further that the flow of funds from Gayus were not difficult to trace. "The money has been disbursed, and Gayus who signed for the disbursement. So, it is easy to trace if there is a will to do so," Susno said.
The former Bareskrim chief said that the money was also handed over in cash.
He said that what remained to be done was to follow its modus operandi whether Gayus acted like a parking attendant where the money was directly deducted.
Susno said that the tracing of the Rp28 billion money was necessary, so that the case would not continue to be linked with him.
