VEEP URGES GOVERNORS NOT TO IGNORE COORDINATION

Palu, Central Sulawesi, April 8 (ANTARA) - Vice President Boediono urged all governors not to "play their own different music" in making their policies, so that they contravene with those of the central government.

"We should not play their own music. We need to have a song with a harmonious rhythm," he told Central Sulawesi government officials at a meeting here Thursday.

The governor's position as the central government's representative in the region itself had been stipulated in the government regulation number 19/2010.

Boediono said the governors need to carry out their duty under sound coordination with the central government.

The objective of government regulation was to build an effective coordination between the central and provincial governments, he said.

"Government regulations are not meant to return to the centralistic government but to build a sound coordination," he said.
