BISHKEK, April 8 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyz capital Bishkek is functioning
normally, and city apartments receive water, electricity and gas in full,
city mayor's spokeswoman Oksana Filyuk told Itar-Tass.
However, not all city buses are operating on Thursday, as many of them
were damaged during unrest on Wednesday. She also said that Mayor Nariman
Tyuleyev currently "governs the capital only by telephone".
"Last night the building of the administration was seized and now the
city mayor is not allowed to his workplace," Filyuk said. As for security
and law and order in the capital, that issue is currently "within the
competence of the interim government".
"The city authorities are now busy only with keeping life in the city
going," the press secretary noted.
