VATICAN AMBASSADOR INAUGURATES MANADO CATHEDRAL
Manado, Indonesia, Apr 10 (ANTARA) - Vatican Ambassador to Indonesia Mgr Leopoldo Girelli inaugurated a Cathedral in Manado in a Holy Mass in the company of the Bishop of Manado Mgr Josef Suwatan and five other bishops in Eastern Indonesia, here, Saturday.
The inaugural ceremony was marked with the anointing of the alter and walls of the church and the burning of incense by Mgr Leopoldo with the assistance of the other bishops as mass celebrants.
North Sulawesi Governor Sinyo H Sarundajang in his address said the inauguration of the cathedral added the facilities of faith expected to promote belief in God.
The church construction committee chairwoman Marietta Kuntag said the Manado Cathedra has room for 800 to 1,000 worshipers.
