Relatives of Tu-154 plane crash victims keep arriving in Moscow.
MOSCOW, April 11 (Itar-Tass) - The relatives of victims who were
onboard a Tu-154 plane of Polish President Lech Kaczynski that crashed in
Russia's Smolensk region on Saturday morning started arriving in Moscow
late on Saturday.
"Representatives of the Moscow administration, experts and
psychologists of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Ministry of
Health and Social Development are working in Moscow airports," Irina
Andrianova, a spokesperson for the Russian Ministry for Emergency
Situations, told Itar-Tass. She added that psychologists would also work
in hotels where the relatives of the victims would stay.
The first helicopter of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations
has already delivered some bodies of the dead to Moscow. Forensic
examinations and identification procedures will be held in Moscow morgues.
A Tu-154 plane of Polish President Lech Kaczynski crashed in the
outskirts of the town of Pechersk, the Smolensk region, at around 10:50
Moscow time on Saturday. There were no survivors. The plane carried
members of an official Polish delegation, including the Polish president
and his wife, who were supposed to participate in a commemorative ceremony
at the Katyn memorial.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced April 12 to be a day of
mourning for the Polish president in Russia.
A week of mourning has been announced in Poland.
