Russian, Ukrainian FM present condolences to Poland.
MOSCOW, April 11 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
said on Saturday that Russia would render necessary assistance to the
Polish side and the families of the dead, including a visit to the plane
crash site.
"During his visit to Ukraine Sergei Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign
Minister Konstantin Grishchenko phoned their Polish counterpart Radoslaw
Sikorski," the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
"They presented their profound condolences to the Polish side over the
tragic air crash near Smolensk that claimed the lives of Polish President
Lech Kaczynski, his wife and numerous members of the Polish delegation who
were heading for commemorative events in Katyn," the Russian Foreign
Ministry went on to say.
