Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) Valery Semerikov and the
European Union's special representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel
agreed at the meeting on Monday that the two organizations will coordinate
their activity in Kyrgyzstan.
"The two sides exchanged views on the situation in Kyrgyzstan and
expressed their opinions on measures the international community should
take to settle the situation in the country," the CSTO press service said.
Semerikov and Morel arrived at the conclusion that "without
comprehensive help to Kyrgyzstan it will be difficult to overcome the
crisis and restore normal life in the country."
A delegation of the CSTO secretariat, which comprises two deputies of
the secretary general and the Secretariat's personnel has been staying in
Kyrgyzstan since April 8. They meet with the republic's political elite
and the leadership of law enforcement and security.
