2 gunmen killed, 2 officers killed, 2 police injured in Ingushetia
NAZRAN, July 6 (Itar-Tass) -- Two militants were killed in a special operation that ended in Ingushetia on Saturday. Two servicemen were killed and two policemen were injured in the shootout.
The investigation department in Ingushetia said the killed militants are local residents Ilyas Bokov and Khamagomed Bogatyrev. Bogatyrev was on the wanted list on suspicions of involvement in an armed raid in Ingushetia in 2004.
The criminals driving a black VAZ-2110 fired at policemen, who were on duty, at about 11.10 Moscow time on Saturday at the intersection of Albogachiyev and Vesennyaya streets in the city of Malgobek. An officer of the road police regiment, Medov, was injured in the shootout and hospitalized. About 40-50 minutes later the same criminal opened fire from a grenade launcher and small arms at an UAZ-469, which was carrying five officers of the temporary police group in Ingushetia, in the vicinity of Verkhniye Achaluki in the Malgobek region. A policeman received numerous wounds and died on the spot, another two policemen were injured and hospitalized after this clash.
After this shootout the criminals were trying to escape, but during the chase they abandoned their car and escaped in the forest in the vicinity of Nizhniye Achaluki. The police have blocked completely the forest. During the special operation two servicemen were killed and two policemen were injured and hospitalized.
