Cyclone leaves Sakhalin, moves to Kamchatka.

VLADIVOSTOK, April 15 (Itar-Tass) - A powerful cyclone has left Russia'
s Sakhalin, where over 80 percent of the monthly norm of precipitation
fell within 24 hours.
The road between the settlements of Nogliki and Piltun is closed for
vehicles because of snowfalls. Over 100 road scrapers, bulldozers and
other special vehicles are clearing roads of snow across the island.
According to the press service of Sakhalin region's department of the
Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, the railway and the airport of
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk operate without restrictions, while the ferry link
between Vanino and Kholmsk is closed because of a storm in the Tatar
Strait. All four ferries carrying cargoes and passengers between the
mainland and Sakhalin are ready to put to sea as soon as weather
conditions permit.
The cyclone is now moving to Kamchatka. A strong storm is raging in
the Sea of Okhotsk.
