Russia, Italy agree to boost partnership to surmount crisis.
ROME, April 15 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Minister of Industry Viktor
Khristenko and Italian Minster of Economic Development Claudio Scajola
confirmed on Wednesday a bid to boost bilateral industrial partnership to
surmount the crisis.
The two ministers said it in a joint communique on the results of a
working meeting held in the Italian capital earlier on Wednesday.
"We boost strategic partnership with the Russian Federation with an
aim to consolidate and speed up economic recovery. Time has come to look
forward. Russia and Italy can now use their whole potential in such
sectors as energy, innovation, aircraft building and car manufacturing,"
the Italian minister said.
Talks of the two officials focused on economic and trade relations
between the two countries. Claudio Scajola said Italians consider "very
promising" special economic zones created in Russia, which present
favourable conditions for the activity of small and medium-sized foreign
enterprises and contribute to the inflow of investments.
The ministers confirmed support by their governments for major
bilateral industrial projects, such as the joint production of vehicles by
Fiat and Sollers, as well as cooperation of Italian Finmeccanica and
Russian Grazhdanskiye Samolety Sukhogo (GSS), which jointly implement the
Superjet-100 project.
