INDONESIA TO CONDUCT INVESTMENT CAMPAIGNS IN FOUR COUNTRIES

Jakarta, April 15 (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is set to conduct investment promotion campaigns in Qatar, India, France and the United States starting this month.

"The Indonesian investment marketing will be held in Dubai, Mumbai, Paris and Washington as of April 2010," BKPM Regional Promotion Facilities Director Johny Ferauchi Djafar said here on Thursday.

The activity would involve regional governments which had key investment projects to be offered to investors, he said.

The board has so far named seven of the country`s 33 provinces as regional champions which are ready to offer their key investment projects to investors.

The seven provinces are Riau, South Sumatra, West Java, East Java, East Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, and Papua. The provinces have labor-intensive investment projects, general infrastructure projects and integrated infrastructure projects.

As widely-known, East Kalimantan and South Sumatra are planning to build railway tracks integrated with ports, smelter plants, and power plants.

West Nusa Tenggara intends to develop an integrated tourist resort, and Papua wants to build more infrastructure facilities in support of energy industry in the region.

Meanwhile, Riau and West Java are offering investment projects related to their natural resources.
