COMPANIES FROM EIGHT COUNTRIES TO JOIN BALIKPAPAN EXPO
Balikpapan, E Kalimantan, April 15 (ANTARA) - Major companies from eight countries have pledged to join the 2010 Balikpapan Expo, due to be held on June 17-19, the exhibition`s organizers said.
The participating companies were from Indonesia, Australia, Germany, Russia, Singapore, Canada, China and India, Expo Manager of PT.Sinar Expo Prima Hening Soelaiman said here Thursday.
The three-day exhibition, themed "Investing in the Eco Friendly Growth of Balikpapan City", was expected to produce business transactions worth Rp12 billion, he said.
Held at the Balikpapan Sports and Convention Center, the expo was a good opportunity for local and foreign mining suppliers and developers to seek for partners or expand their markets, he said.
"The Balikpapan Expo has proven its effectiveness in facilitating the meetings of suppliers and developers," Soelaiman said.
This annual expo, which had been held for six times, offered 141 booths. Last year, the expo facilitated business people to make transactions of about Rp10 billion, he said.
Among the major mining companies that would participate were Trakindo, United Tractors, Altrak 1978, Hyundai, Mercedes, Hino, Antika Raya and RMA Group, he said.
