MALAYSIAN PM NAJIB ARRIVES IN NEW YORK FOR THE FINAL LEG VISIT TO US

NEW YORK, April 16 (Bernama) -- Najib Tun Razak, who is on a
week-long working visit to the United States, arrived in New York Thursday for the final leg of his visit to enhance trade and investment ties between the two countries.

The Malaysian prime minister, who flew in from Washington DC, arrived at the
Newark International Airport at 7.30pm.

He was welcomed by Malaysian permanent representative to the United Nations
Hamidon Ali.

Najib was accompanied by his wife, Rosmah Mansor, Information
Communication and Culture Minister Rais Yatim, who is also acting
Foreign Minister, and wife Masnah Rais, Malaysia's Ambassador to the
United States Jamaludin Jarjis and wife Dr Kalsom Ismail.

While here, Najib is expected to meet the American business captains and
fund managers on Friday evening to give them a first-hand take on Malaysia's
recently-launched New Economic Model (NEM).

Earlier in the day, he is expected to deliver a luncheon talk on " A New
Vision for Malaysia" at the Asia Society.

Najib, who was in Washington since last Saturday, had a bilateral meeting
with United States President Barack Obama before attending the two-day Nuclear
Security Summit with other 45 other world leaders which started Monday.
