AFFIN HOLDINGS YET TO REPORT ACQUISITION PLAN FORMALLY
Jakarta, April 16 (ANTARA) - A central bank official said here on Friday that Affin Holdings Bhd. had only reported informally about its plan to acquire Bank Ina Perdana.
"They just reported informally but until now there has not been any new development in the matter," Bank Indonesia deputy director for bank supervision, Joni Swastanto, said.
It was reported earlier that Affin Holdings Bhd. from Malaysia had already conducted a due diligence ahead of its plan to acquire Bank Ina Perdana by the end of March 2010.
Bank Ina Perdana's present stockholders are PT Kharisma Prima Karya (96.02 percent), PT Media Interaksi Utama (1.64 percent), Perkumpulan Sekolah Kristen Djakarta (0.78 percent), Majelis Pusat Pendidikan Kristen Indonesia (0.78 percent) and Baktinedra Prawiro (0.78 percent).
Boustead's Deputy Chairman and Group Managing Director Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin told Malaysian news agency Bernama that Affin Holdings would buy Bank Ina to strengthen its position in Indonesia. Boustead Holdings Bhd. holds 20 percent shares in Affin Holdings.
Bank Ina Perdana plans to sell shares to meet its needs for fund ahead of becoming a foreign exchange bank in 2011.
The bank also plans to conduct initial public offering to meet its need.
