6,3-magnitude quake strikes Papua New Guinea.

NEW YORK, April 18 (Itar-Tass) -- A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck
Papua New Guinea at about 09:15 local time (03:15 Moscow time), the
American geological service reported on Saturday.
The epicenter was 28 kilometres east of Lae, one of the country's two
largest cities. There were no reports about victims and destruction and no
tsunami warning.
Papua New Guinea is within the so-called Ring of Fire, the region
accounting for 75 percent of the world's seismic activity. In 1998 the
country had the most tragic event in its history -- tsunami caused by an
earthquake completely destroyed the town of Aitape and killed more than
2,000 residents there.
