North Korean leader inspects hydroelectr plant construction site.

PYONGYANG, April 18 (Itar-Tass) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-il
accompanied by a large group of party and military figures visited the
hydroelectric power plant construction site in the north of the country on
an inspection trip.
North Korea's central news agency reported that the secretary-general
of the Workers' Party and the chairman of the State Defence Committee
praised the builders from the Korean People's Army who with their working
enthusiasm managed to do an immense volume of work in a few months.
Kim noted with satisfaction that various facilities of the power plant
were built ahead of schedule with the use of own resources, domestic
technologies and materials. The leader displayed care for the builders,
who must not have inconveniences, as he said.
Kim also underscored the importance of construction of such electric
stations in other regions of the country.
He began his inspection trip, the first this year, with a visit to the
construction site in January. His visit filled local workers with
enthusiasm and they worked untiringly despite 30-degree frosts, the news
agency noted.
A series of agitation posters was published in the country recently.
Among them was one calling for concentrating efforts on the hydroelectric
power plant construction.
