Abkhazia's security chief blames Georgia for cafe blast in Gal
SUKHUMI, Abkhazia, July 7 (Itar-Tass) - Yuri Ashuba, the head of the
State Security Service of the unrecognised Republic of Abkhazia has blamed Georgia for Sunday's cafй blast in the town of Gal, the administrative centre of the Gali region.
Ashuba told Itar-Tass on Monday that the explosion that occurred at
22:58 Moscow time, was a terror strike staged by Georgian security forces
against Abkhazian law enforcers.
According to clarified reports, the blast claimed the lives of two
people, including the acting chief of the Gal branch of the State Security
Service.
Another eight people were wounded. Two of them - a border guard and an
interpreter of the U.N. Mission- were taken to a military hospital in
Agudzer in serious condition.
The other six victims are staying in the district hospital of the Gali
region.
