Kyrgyzstan to take part in anti-terrorist exercise in Tajikistan.

DUSHANBE, April 21 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyz military will take part in the
anti-terrorist command and staff exercise of the collective rapid
deployment force of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) in
the Central Asian region. The exercise codenamed Rubezh (Frontier) - 2010
will be held in the Tajik training center Chorukh-Dairon on April 22-26,
the head of the Tajik Defense Ministry's press center, Faridun
Makhmadaliyev, told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
According to Makhmadaliyev, a platoon of Kyrgyz servicemen and
helicopters have already arrived at the center. Earlier, the Kyrgyz
government refused to take part in the exercise due to the complicated
situation in the country.
All in all 600 servicemen supported by armored vehicles and
helicopters from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will take
part. Another CSTO member-country, Uzbekistan, will traditionally send a
group of military observers.
Makhmadaliyev said, the exercise's aim is "to practice interaction by
the Central Asian rapid deployment forces in a joint counter-terrorist
operation against terrorist infiltrations from abroad."
The exercise will be held under the command of Tajik Land Forces
Commander-in-Chief Colonel, Emomali Sobirov.
Tajik Defense Minister Sherali Khairulloyev, military officials from
CSTO countries and foreign diplomats accredited in Tajikistan will watch
the maneuvers.
